MTB is a very young cycling sport, but the rapid evolution of technology in that short time can't be underestimated. Despite what keyboard warriors and some jaded bike reviewers will say, the bikes of today are spaceships. However, the steps taken to get here include trends, technology and well-meaning experiments that make the old bikes. However, the steps taken to get here include trends, technology and well-meaning experiments that make the old bikes look like alien craft these days. Which is why it's valuable to look back every so often and marvel / ponder at the bikes that got us here.
For that reason, Team Old Soil, Velo Cosmos, and our very own Doug Hatfield are presenting a display of mountain bikes, from the grease-burning Repack bikes through the age of rapid suspension adoption (the 90s) and into the present day. The show is being held at our Factory Store in Santa Cruz April 13-14. It's the weekend before the Sea Otter Classic.

CANCELLED- The April 14th race has been canceled. Due to circumstances beyond our control the pre otter dual slalom race we had been planning has been canceled. We had hopes of reconfiguring the track and holding a race the weekend before Sea Otter. Several issues have caused the cancelation. One is this past winters weather hit the track hard. Several trees fell and the ground has been too soggy to move dirt around as we had planned. Also there are a few snags with the county regarding the use permit. All of these issues are being delt with and we are hopeful for another annual fall dual slalom race. Thank you for all the support and your patience while we get past these hurdles. The obstacle is the way. Stay tuned....

Dual slalom track update.
We are in the process of rebuilding the start stage. And have several good things lined up for the track. We will have a race series beginning early next year. We are also working on the "Dig to Ride" schedule so we can all get back on the track and do maintenance and ride it again. More info to follow in the coming weeks.
